Is it true that unemployment is a social construct used to keep minimum wage low?

That's one way to look at it. No recent government has advocated full employment, as that would push wages up and lead to more inroads by organized labor. It also helps explain the government's relaxed attitude about illegal immigration. Is it true that unemployment is a social construct used to keep minimum wage low?
it doesnt really matter. you see even if minimum wage was higher the prices of goods/services would also increase. the problems would remain the same but with larger numbers. so think about it why would you use unemployment as a social construct to keep minimum wage low when common sense is enough... raising it would result in confusion and hectic comments as to why are ppl still having financial problems........
