Is it true that a large majority of food you eat is used for healing if you work out in the weight room?

When you get really sore and your muscles need nutrients to heal?

I ask because my dad works out everyday of his life and hes so freaking buff. He has no fat on his belly what so ever and he told me thats why.Is it true that a large majority of food you eat is used for healing if you work out in the weight room?
Yes, it is trueIs it true that a large majority of food you eat is used for healing if you work out in the weight room?
Pretty much...

Not sure why he works out everyday you need to have rest days otherwise your muscles wont recover.

60-70% of calories burnt in a day a from regular activities and keeping your body going

20-30% of calories burnt are consumed during a hard work out

10% of calories are burnt by lean muscle when resting I.e. the more muscle you have the more calories you burn

Basically the nutrients in the food you consume will go towards rebuilding muscle, protein to build muscle fibres, carbs to provide quick energy and restore muscle glycogen levels and fat to provide longer term energy.
