You can hook it up using wires. In fact, you should try hooking up with wires first before you try wireless to make sure you have an internet connection available.

Your hookups should look like this:

Cable or DSL modem ==%26gt; Linksys router ==%26gt; computer

The cable should connect the DSL modem to the WAN port of your router. Another cable should run from one of the numbered LAN ports of the router to your computer's ethernet port.I have a linksys wireless router i was told i can use it with cables also true? it want work?
When you got the used router, did the cd come with it ? Is already programed to another IP address? Have you inserted the cd and start from the begining.
YES

Im not sure what your trying to do here. There are certain Linksys wireless routers that your able to connect your ethernet cables and share files, internet connection, etc.

You shouldnt not have a problem connecting both win 98 and your win xp to your router. Download your latest drivers for your linksys router to each computer.

Im not sure if your trying to share files or internet connections. I suggest you use the ';my network places'; to ';add a network place'; wizard in windows XP first. It will ask you if you want to save settings to export to your windows 98 computer.
