I've heard that humans use only 10% of their brain. is this true?

If this is true, is the other 90% used for other things, such as body organ functuion, ect.. or is it just there?I've heard that humans use only 10% of their brain. is this true?
Don't get worried when u heard that we only use 10% of our brain. The president uses none at all.I've heard that humans use only 10% of their brain. is this true?
The statement that humans use only 10% of their brain originally was meant to signify that only 10% of the brain's capacity for storing and processing information was used up in an average lifetime. We are capable of learning, remembering, and processing much more than any of us actually do. It's like having a car with 500 horsepower that you never drive over 30 miles an hour. If we spent more time studying, thinking, solving problems, etc. We could, even with our best efforts, never run out of storage or processing capacity. That's what the statement is trying to indicate.
There is some people believe that our brain has been ';locked'; for some reason or so that we cannot be ';over'; smart...but for me? i do think this 10-15% of usage already enough for human bring to create so much trouble in the world of today.
From Wikipedia.com

';Myth: Humans use only 10% or 1% of their brain. Though the brain still holds mysteries that are being studied, every part of the brain is known to have a function. A possible origin of this myth is the fact that only about 10% of the neurons in the brain are firing at any given time. However, if all of your neurons began firing at once, you would not become smarter, but instead suffer an epileptic seizure. In fact studies have shown that the brains of more intelligent people are less active than the brains of less intelligent people, when working on the same problems.

The large (unreasonable) amount of identical structures may arise during the evolution as a result of mutation, damaging the termination chain (the cauliflower ';superbud';, for instance). From the other side, the power of computing device may be increased just by adding more identical components (more processors, more memory chips). Hence the argumentation that the significant redundancy is ';evolutionary impossible'; is not strictly true. However there are no evidence that brain contains the similary large number of redundant structures and especially that they could be simply activated for the useful work.';
We use 100% of our brains all of the time, but some areas of the brain have more activity at different times as the bright spots show on a brain scan.

For example, when you are deep in thought your brain will show more activity in the thought and reasoning areas than when you are just watching TV.

But none of our brain is ';just there';, we use it all.

Drug users like to say we only use 10% of our brains so as not to worry about getting brain damage. But brain damage is exactly what they are getting from drug use.
