Is it true that it's against Catholicism to use a condom?

If so, why? I mean, why not just abstain from sex...?Is it true that it's against Catholicism to use a condom?
It's true. Catholics believe that to prevent life is to disrespect life. That's why any form of birth control besides Natural Family Planning (which uses the natural rhythms of the body) is considered sinful. That's also their rationale for opposing masturbation (';spilling your seed';, if you will).

Obviously you are expected to abstain from sex until marriage, but even married couples are not supposed to use condoms or any birth control.

(I, along with a huge percentage of Catholics, think that this particular teaching is outdated and I will not practice it. But you asked, so I answered!)Is it true that it's against Catholicism to use a condom?
Yes, it's true. According to the Catholic viewpoint, having condoms (or using any other form of birth control) means that you are planning to commit fornication, and also that you are planning to do so without what they feel should be the only purpose of sex, which would be to have children.
Yes it is true and the non-use of condoms by most Roman Catholics is the only reason why Roman Catholicism continues to grow. By giving the guilt trip to all their adherents and by teaching that they are the only true church in Christendom (and they are disciplined or excommunicated if they ever try to put a toe in another camp) they are guaranteed a huge next generation every time so the church just gets larger and larger.
For Catholics it's a mortal sin to use any sort of birth control. Even to look at a condom gets you sent straight to hell.

The pope and the Catholic Church leaders couldn't care less about people living in poverty, besides, the more kids, the more fodder for the catholic machine, more dollars in the collection box.

If's it's true about wasting sperm, what does the pope and all the priests do with theirs?

Do they collect their overflows or produce of their wet dreams and send it to a sperm bank?
Condom is not allow but FORNICATION is allowed?

(1 Corinthians 5:11) But now I am writing YOU to quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother that is a fornicator or a greedy person or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man.

(1 John 5:19) We know we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the [power of the] wicked one.
The Church has been opposed to safe sex for fear that it would encourage people to have more gay/unmarried sex.

Unfortunately, denying people condoms and safe sex information only leads to more STDs and unplanned pregnancies, since people will have sex whether they have condoms or not. The Church doesn't seem to be ready to admit their failure on this issue yet.
have you ever noticed that catholic families are usually quite large? and their ages are pretty close together? My ex-stepfather was catholic and wanted my mother to be, in his words, in the kitchen barefoot and pregnant. I never saw a condom until my sex ed class. He always said the men produce the swimmers and the women carry the babies. Its a sin to waste what God gave ya. But...he was an alcoholic too. Go figure.
No, to your question. However, we are to abstain from all sexual activities; as it is a selfish act, due to the vain imaginations it presents within us, giving us more of an appetite...for more of same; thus, we become a slave to it; instead of to God. God will deliver you IF YOU ask HIM to do so; HE will always give you a way of escape. Possibly, Catholicism still wants us to have more children to keep their Churches full of people. However, God will give children to those HE chooses; not the Catholic church. The Priests still Pray to GOD for guidance. None of us is that smart, as GOD. His ways and thoughts are unlike ours. Even a Priest. Look up ';sexual activities'; in your Bible. Don't have one? I bet your Library has one. Simply ASK.
Catholics believe every sperm is sacred because they have the potential to create life, so wasting sperm is non-kosher.

If you abstain from sex, the terrorists win.
It's also against Catholicism to use the search button.
Abstinence is preferred, but catholics don't want anyone wasting any sperm. Watch the movie ';Monty Python's Meaning of Life'; and the song ';Every Sperm Is Sacred';.
If a couple is married, he can get out quick before the big O and then spill it on the bed, or a towel and so forth. Does that sound reasonable to you or much different than a condom?
